A NURSING boss who faced 18 misconduct charges has been struck off.

A disciplinary hearing found Scott Finlay Knowles asked a female nurse what her favourite sexual position was while he worked as a care co-ordinator at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Knowles, who was also in charge of student nurses for a time, faced 18 misconduct charges at a hearing in London, of which 12 were found at least partially proved by a panel.

Nursing and Midwifery Council officials have not revealed where Mr Knowles was posted at the time of the incidents, which took place between 2006 and 2008.

He was also found to have inappropriately locked a student in a car with a patient, told a student he was going to “get rid of” certain patients, and inappropriately instructed a student to remove his shirt.

The panel also said he failed to maintain reasonable contact with a patient, and obtained DVDs from another patient without paying for them, among other ‘proven facts’.
