Jack Straw shocked and alarmed at sacking of Blackburn Rovers boss

SHOCK Blackburn MP Jack Straw SHOCK Blackburn MP Jack Straw

HIGH profile supporters spoke of their concerns after yesterday’s sacking.

Blackburn MP Jack Straw said he was shocked when he learned the news.

He said: “We have now had more managers this season than we have won away games. It is very alarming and also extremely depressing given that up to three years ago we were one of the best run clubs in the country.”

Comedian Jim Bowen said he was unhappy with the owners.

He said: “What are they doing to Blackburn Rovers? What are they playing at?

“I really do give up which is very sad. I despair.”

Hyndburn MP Graham Jones said the problems did not lie in the manager’s office but the boardroom.

He said: “It struck me that the club was too big for Appleton and he admitted that he dithered over some big decisions. I don’t know if it was the right decision to sack him and I feel sorry for him as he was handed a crown of thorns.

A lot of people were shocked when you and Blair went to war on a lie. But Football is a game. The Iraq war resulted in innocent peoples lives that were lost. You and Blair weren‘t even sacked. Your a very, very, lucky person and always have been. Your safe seat in Blackburn being just one lucky example!

Jack Straw and football are as similar as chalk and cheese. But a good vote earner even so! You’re a very, very, clever man caring about Blackburn Rovers so much. Especially when you don‘t even live here!

I seem to remember the manager saying, after a few days in the job, that he hadn't spoken to Mr Singh but that he had the manager's phone number and that he knew where to find him.

(Not a very clever statement to make re your boss.)

It looks as though Mr Appleton was right.

What a pity "district01" that you felt you had to make political points on a football topic.
From all accounts Jack Straw speaks highly of you too.

I think you may agree that football and politics bear some similarities even so. Both are teams fighting against one another and foul play does sometimes happen without being noticed when in play. But what a pity foul play by politicians can‘t be sacked as easily!

mr straw why are you shocked at this decision ? if you had performed like appleton in your line of work,,, you would have been shown the door too, he was abysmal,,we all know the present owners bare the real responsibility for our situation but at the same time appleton did not inspire confidence either in his demeanour or the manner in which he adopted tactics or lack of them, the whole inept football was painful to watch, it was the right decision,,

"Jack Straw shocked and alarmed"

That's it Jack, concentrate on the important stuff, If you like we'll forget all about Iraq, deals with Gadaffi and a few other bits and bobs, I'm sure you wouldn't want us to get shocked and alarmed about them eh?

Looks like Mr Singh or whoever sacked him got the last laugh. Appleton should have been above boardroom struggle.
