Clayton-le-Moors woman to raise money in memory of mum
9:00pm Tuesday 19th March 2013 in News
FUNDRAISER: Nicola Crook
A FUNDRAISER is remembering her mum as part of this year’s Starlight Walk.
Nicola Crook, of Clayton-le-Moors, is taking part in the East Lancashire Hospice event after staff made a lasting impression on her.
Nicola’s mother, Dorothy, spent three days in the hospice in 2009 before she passed away.
Nicola said: “Mum was in the hospice for a short time, but it made a big impact on me. The level of care was unbelieveable. “Mum was a nurse herself and she knew how wonderful a place it is.
“I wanted to show my gratitude to the hospice. It costs so much to keep the hospice running and I want to help that care to continue for people who need it in the future.
“For anyone who is considering signing up to the walk this year, I would say get involved. The atmosphere is great on the night, with everyone coming together to do their little bit. Don’t think twice about registering.”
To sign up to the Starlight Walk on Saturday, June 22, go to eastlancshospice.org.uk or call Denise on 01254 733411.
