Oswaldtwistle cannabis farm blamed on debt

POLICE who raided an Oswaldtwistle address found the leftovers of a cannabis farm.
Blackburn magistrates heard Kevin Paul Rawes claimed he had let others use his home to produce cannabis because of a debt.
And he admitted that of the cannabis that was left, he intended to sell £10 worth to his brother.
“It is supply, but it is not street supply,” said Peter Wild, prosecuting.
Rawes, 24, of Livingstone Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply, and producing cannabis.
He was made subject to a curfew between 7pm and 6am for four months, and ordered to pay £85 costs. Mr Wild said police found a small amount of cannabis, and some very small cannabis plants.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Rawes was in debt because of some damage to a car while it was in his possession.
“As a way round his situation, he allowed some individuals into his home to grow cannabis.”
