FORMER Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan is the star of a new advert promoting the Cheltenham Festival.

The former Blackburn Westholme School pupil, a contestant in the recent series of ‘I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!’, has teamed up with bookmakers Ladbrokes ahead of the major horse racing event, which starts tomorrow.

Flanagan, 22, plays the role of a fitness instructor, putting jockeys through their paces with a workout to ensure they maintain their energy levels throughout the four-day festival.

The video has attracted more than 100,000 since it was posted on YouTube on Friday.

The action at the festival begins with Champion Day tomorrow, followed by Ladies’ Day, and then the Ladbrokes World Hurdle on Thursday, before the world-famous Cheltenham Gold Cup on Friday.
