‘If you men had to go through what we women do once a month you wouldn’t know how to handle it’ is the cry us men here all to often.

Yes, it probably the case. I think as men we do take some things for granted. Life generally is easier if you are bloke.

On the whole we can get away with a lot more but would a woman be able to handle a man’s monthly cycle? I sense not.

It would probably end with one mighty argument over a bag of peanuts or some other nonsense.

So, while I am forever glad that I am a man, I think I speak for all men: It is just as hard being on the other side.

I think men should be given credit for being patient. Those who are not patient have fallen by the wayside whilst the remainder of us soldier on.

Being on the other side is not all that is cut out to be.

For a while you think you have got it all sorted but ‘bham’ – the professional is a novice again.

What all men must remember is that no matter what you are a loser.

Not just normal run of the mill loser… But a big loser.

You are at most vulnerable when you come to the moment when you think you have mastered it.

But then again, if you women knew what it was like to lose a vital game of football in the final few minutes of play, you would know the pain we go through.

I guess comparing one thing to the next is not entirely the correct thing to but unless you have lost a match where you had 22 attempts on goal and the opposition scores in the final seconds with a deflected shot which rolled in off post – you will not know what I am talking about.

Yes, I know this is quite a futile attempt to try make win some sympathy for men but you have to try.

Man, do I feel sorry for the female football fans out there. Life must be so tough with these double blows!
