Dogs plea from Tockholes farmer

A TOCKHOLES farmer has appealed for people to be careful when walking dogs after three of his lambs were killed.

Alan Bretherton, of Shaw Farm, in Stockclough Lane, said a woman had let her dog off the lead, not knowing there were sheep in the field, and it killed them.

Mr Bretherton said: “The woman got in touch with me and she was upset and said she would pay for them to be replaced.

“People need to keep dogs on leads as it costs hundreds of pounds.

“It isn’t nice for me as this is my livelihood.”
