A PINK Cinderella carriage brought traffic to a standstill and turned plenty of heads as a family staged their own ‘Big Fat Gipsy Christening’'.

Baby Ellie Precious Collins arrived for her fairytale christening at Sacred Heart RC Church, Blackburn, in the carriage pulled by a white horse with matching pink ribbons plaited through its mane.

She travelled with her parents Martine and Owen Collins and older brother Owen Junior, who were all dressed in pink for the occasion on Tuesday.

And as the family posed for photographs outside their house in St Thomas Street, Blackburn, Ellie's mum Martine joked: “Take a picture! It’s like a big fat gipsy wedding!”

The carriage was driven by two women dressed smartly in silver-trimmed top hats and tails. The christening procession held up traffic as the family made their way to the church and residents came out of their houses and lined the pavements to watch as they passed through the streets of Blackburn.

The sun was shining on the parade as it travelled through Audley and along Barbara Castle Way before heading onwards to the church on Preston New Road.

The Collins family were met at Sacred Heart by friends and family from the traveller community who had arrivled for the christening.

Girls wearing bright outfits decorated with seq-uins and glitter and boys dressed smartly in suits and ties gathered to greet the carriage as it pulled up.
