Blackburn drink-driver left house before row
6:00pm Wednesday 6th March 2013 in News
A MAN who left the house in the early hours to avoid a row with his estranged wife ended up being breathalysed.
James Edward Greenwood, 41, of Higher Witton Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was banned from driving for 17 months and fined £125 with £100 costs..
Richard Prew, defending, said Greenwood was estranged from his wife but they were still living separately in the matrimonial home.
“They spoke in the early hours of this morning and when that turned into a row he quite sensibly decided to get out of the way and go to a friend’s house,” said Mr Prew.
