Darwen's Cheryl comes third in UK beauty pageant

BEAUTY pageant Cheryl Jepson came third in the Mrs Galaxy UK competition.

Mrs Jepson, of Darwen, represented Lancashire in the contest, the first of its kind for married women.

The 25-year-old graphic designer was named third runner-up in the contest at the Park Hall Hotel in Chorley on Friday.

Cheryl met her husband, Chris, who she married in August, 2011, aged just four at primary school.

Mrs Jepson said: “Thank you to all of my family, friends and to everyone who has supported me throughout my year as Mrs Lancashire Galaxy. I have had an amazing year working with different charities and attending many events. It was a tough competition and I came second runner up to a worthy winner. This experience has been one I will never forget and I hope I am given the chance to do it all again next year.”
