ACCRINGTON Stanley’s youth team will travel in style after a new minibus was donated by Altham firm Cleverboxes.
The IT supplier was Stanley’s official shirt sponsor before last month’s deal with Store First.
Cleverboxes managing director ,Vernon Yerkess, who is on the board of directors at Stanley, said: “The youth team desperately needed a new minibus and although we are not the main sponsor now we thought this was a nice way to stay involved with the club.
“Until now, they had been relying on parents providing lifts to matches but they can now travel together and spend that valuable time before and after the game bonding as a team.”
The minibus, which was supplied by Channel 4’s Bank of Dave star David Fishwick, was presented to the youth team and Stanley first team manager Leam Richardson by Vernon at the club this week.
Stanley managing director Rob Heys said: “The new minibus is a huge boost to the youth develop-ment department.
“Thanks to Cleverboxes we can transport the youth team to training and games in a professional and safe manner as we look to develop the next generation of Accrington Stanley players.”
