FARM life gave Blackburn-with-Darwen’s deputy mayor a relaxing break from council duties.

Coun Salim Mulla went to The Wellbeing Farm in Edgworth to see what is on offer for bosses and busy people looking for an escape from the rat race.

He was able to preview the unveiling of the new complex after three years of planning and construction, complete with a farmhouse cookery demonstration.

The farm — derelict for several years — was transformed by owner Celia Gaze to provide activities such as basket making, llama trekking, archery, and holistic therapy, butchery and well-equipped facilities for corporate away days. Coun Mulla said: “I really enjoyed taking a tour and seeing first hand all of the hard work and dedication that has gone into creating a unique and high quality venue.

“I can’t wait to see companies and local residents taking full advantage of all of the impressive activities and facilities.”
