Blackburn College helps train Russian students in customer service

BLACKBURN College is helping to train two Russian Colleges in world-class customer service ahead of a host of major sporting events.

The Sochi region is preparing for some high-ranking sporting events next year including the 2014 Winter Olympics, Formula 1 racing and European Cup football.

Students from Novorossiysk and Leningradskaya Pedagogical colleges have carried out work experience placements at catering and hospitality venues at the college and in locations in Blackburn to get hands on experience with customer service in the UK.

They learnt skills such as customer service, cultural awareness and special diets.

The initiative is part of the college’s international strategy to generate more business and financial security.

"The initiative is part of the college’s international strategy to generate more business and financial security". Laugh I very nearly split my sides! This is the funniest statement I have read for many years! Bravo! Comedy is not dead after all! Just how does one learn cultural awareness I wonder? I wonder what types of "culture" to be aware of were on offer? As for special diets? I wonder what they could have been? mmmmmmm I dont know for sure but I think that I could guess and probably be correct. i wonder what the Russian words are for Political Correctness?
