Burnley and Blackburn Rovers Football Clubs urge fans to enjoy derby day
12:09pm Thursday 29th November 2012 in News
BURNLEY and Blackburn Rovers Football Clubs have issued the following joint statement ahead of Sunday’s East Lancashire derby, urging fans to enjoy the occasion.
“We encourage all supporters attending this game to respect each other and the authorities.
"An East Lancashire derby between our two historic clubs is always a special occasion and we hope Sunday’s match will be remembered for the action on the pitch and the positive backing of both sets of supporters.
“We acknowledge that there will be some disruption to the normal matchday schedule.
“However, this has been done with the safety of all supporters in mind and all fans should be aware that breaches of stadium regulations - including anti-social behaviour - will not be tolerated.
"Burnley and Blackburn Rovers also have a zero tolerance for discrimination of any sort, on the pitch or in the stands.
"If you experience any form of discrimination before, during or after the game, or require assistance in any matter, please contact a matchday steward. We look forward to welcoming you to Turf Moor.”

Sadly the first post is a typical mindless immature moron. Fully agree with the statement I have some good memories of the Derby matches stretching back to the 1950s where I used to both home and away games and felt comfortable and enjoyed light hearted banter with all fans. I remember when the buses used to be down the side street at the bus station and fans from both sides go get to Ewood together without trouble. Sadly I don't go to the away match now but will be in my usual seat in the upper JH stand looking forward to a good game. Let's hope it's not spoilt by bad crowd behaviour and players spitting their dummies out. Let's enjoy what is probably the most under publicised oldest Derby in Emglish football where proper fans from both sides have a true passion for who gets the bragging rights until the next match. Here's for a good game and sorry but I have to say it "UTC"

If they can't beat us now they never will. Even a draw will be like a defeat for them.

I feel Blackburn show the courage and sprit to win and keep the good record. Hope Pedersen and Dunn got little experiance in old time on ground.
Keep it tight, when the time comes attack and finish the game. this is FANS game, Berg is the best person know the deal. If this win mean Fans are with u for the season, otherwise three lose in a trot, Berg is OUT. keep this as a rule in Blackburn Managers post.
News that Steve Kean comes for the match.
All the best.

You're right, a draw is not enough for Burnley who I expect to win comfortably 4-1. What goes round comes around, Blackburn have had around 20 years above Burnley but the tide has turned and soon it will be back to the Clarets one division above Rovers as it was not long before Walker's money changed Blackburn. Hope its a great game and I'm sure the best team will win.
