HORDES of diehard fans of the vampire-themed Twilight films filled a Blackburn cinema to be among the first to see the final part of the saga.

The Vue Cinema, in the Peel Leisure and Retail Park, organised for lovers of the series to watch all of the previous films before viewing Breaking Dawn Part Two at midnight.

The movie-marathon lasted for around 12 hours, with enthusiasts bringing sleeping bags, pillows and pyjamas to make the viewing experience as comfy as possible.

Kiera Coyle, 17, from Blackburn, went to the bumper session and premier with friends Melissa Mancini and Katie Baldwin, also 17.

She said: “We could not wait to see the new film.

“We did the same thing when the last one came out so we had to keep the tradition going.

“We thought we would be more prepared this year so we brought blankets and cushions. There is nothing better than watching all of the films then getting to see the new one. It was really exciting.”

Laura Stark and Lucy Neal, both 30, were also looking forward to settling down for the films. Lucy said: “We have had our tickets for months.”

“We had been banging on about it for weeks and didn’t watch the films for the last three months so we would be even more excited.

“We are both definitely Team Edward - he’s our favourite character.”
