Ex-footballer Robbie Savage has clashed with reality TV star Katie Hopkins over comments she made about dementia patients “blocking beds”.
The former Wales international, an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society, said he was “mortified” by the Sun columnist’s tweets as his father Colin died at 63 after battling the disease, which is thought to affect 850,000 people in the UK.
The row erupted when Hopkins wrote on Twitter
In a phone-in with Phil Williams on BBC Radio 5 live Robbie accused the Celebrity Big Brother finalist of making “stupid naïve comments”.
Savage is not the first person to fall out with the former would-be Apprentice.
Here are some of the others who have argued with her.
Danny Dyer
The EastEnders star dedicated a win at a TV awards bash to Hopkins, whom he accused of being “obsessed” with him.
The actor, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter in the soap, branded her a “daft sexist” after she poked fun at the news that his long-term girlfriend had proposed to him.
Hopkins compared it with the United States case when Lorena Bobbitt sliced off her husband’s penis, saying: “Dyer’s girlfriend went the full Lorena Bobbitt; being proposed to removes a man’s genitals.”
Simon Cowell
The Britain’s Got Talent boss was asked if there would ever be space for Hopkins on the ITV talent show and replied: “I would rather take a bath, fill it with vinegar, cut myself a thousand times, immerse myself slowly for an hour, than work with her. So the answer is no.”
Nadia Sawalha
The actress and Loose Women presenter spent some time in the Celebrity Big Brother house with Hopkins and had this to say about her former housemate: “I just thought she was a silly cow. She was somebody who would say the most contentious thing to get the crowd baying, to make people feel victimised. And that is exactly what she does in the house.”
Lily Allen
The singer hit back at Hopkins after she criticised the chart star’s weight.
Allen asked fans: “Can somebody tell me what Katie Hopkins does except go on telly slagging off girls half her age?
“PS: Katie, looks are obviously so important to you. There’s always plastic surgery ya know. Maybe they could sew your mouth up while they fix the rest of you.”

Hopkins was berated online after she discussed the news that a nurse from Glasgow was being treated in London after being diagnosed with Ebola on her return from Sierra Leone.
Some people even complained to the police after she joked about “little sweaty jocks”, adding: “Sending us ebola bombs in the form of sweaty Glaswegians just isn’t cricket.”
She also tweeted: “Glaswegian ebola patient moved to London’s Royal Free Hospital. Not so independent when it matters most, are we, jocksville?”
