Sometimes it’s easy to imagine that Hollywood stars don’t really like each other once the awards ceremony ends and the cameras go off. They do have a reputation for being a bunch of highly-strung divas in a fiercely competitive industry, after all.
But not so for Emma Watson. When she noticed Foxcatcher star Steve Carell had turned up to the Oscars wearing cufflinks promoting HeForShe (the gender-equality organisation she supports) she felt compelled to write a very touching note of thanks.
And they say the written word is dead… Well apparently not if you send it via Twitter.
We don’t know about you, but Emma’s note made us want to, a) watch more Steve Carell films, and b) work on improving our handwriting.
Steve gave the sort of humble response you’d expect from such a class-A gent.
Although he conspicuously avoided the the marriage/adoption proposal. Probably for the best.
