Jessica Chastain is to star in the Snow White And The Huntsman sequel, The Huntsman.
The Zero Dark Thirty star will join Emily Blunt as newcomers to the film, alongside returning cast members Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, reported Deadline.
Chris and Charlize will reprise their roles as Eric the Huntsman and Snow White’s stepmother Queen Ravenna. Jessica and Emily’s roles have not been revealed.
Nick Frost has also signed on to return as dwarf Nion. Toby Jones and Eddie Marsan, who portrayed dwarves in the film, are not expected to be back for the follow-up film.
Kristen Stewart, who played Snow White in the first film, and director Rupert Sanders will not return.
Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who was the visual effects supervisor and second-unit director on the first film, will make his directorial debut with the sequel. The Frenchman replaces Frank Darabont, who had been set to direct before exiting from the role.
Jessica, who starred opposite Oscar Isaac in A Most Violent Year, is filming Ridley Scott’s The Martian with Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig and Kate Mara.
The 37-year-old actress will also star in Guillermo del Toro’s horror thriller Crimson Peak alongside Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam.
