Ben Stiller has said he has no plans to star in any more Night At The Museum movies.
The US actor, who has reprised his role as night guard Larry Daley for the third time, said the latest instalment, Secret Of The Tomb, would be his last outing of the fantasy series.
“For me, it’s the last one,” he said. “I definitely was aware of it when we were making the movie and grateful for the experience and the people I’ve gotten to know.”
He continued: “I thought that was one of the reasons we wanted to make the movie was because there was a reason to tell the story. It was about the end and it gave us a new story to tell. It felt to me there was a natural progression and for Larry, this is a point where he’s able to move on.”
However, director Shawn Levy has hinted a fourth film could be on the horizon, saying: “Owen Wilson keeps saying, I should stop saying ‘This is it’ because we don’t know what might happen.
“We’ll see if the world rates this one and then we’ll see. I don’t want to make any more until we come up with a genuinely fresh and substantial reason.”
The third film sees the cast, including Owen Wilson and Rebel Wilson, heading to London and the British Museum.
Ben also revealed how the cast got a typically rainy welcome.
“It rained every night we shot here, which was expected and felt very British,” he recalled.
“But it’s fun! London is an amazing place to film and it’s so photogenic. There are so many places to go and there’s so much history here, cinematic history too.
“I’d never made a movie here so I was really excited. Just to be shooting in the British Museum was incredible. There’s nothing like being in the real location, that feeling of the hallways and being there at night.”
