Shailene Woodley has hinted that she has yet to close a deal to star in Oliver Stone’s Edward Snowden film.
The Fault In Our Stars actress is rumoured to play Snowden’s girlfriend Lindsay Mills, opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who has already signed up to portray the whistleblower.
But she remained tight-lipped about the potential casting, saying: “Nothing is set in stone yet.”
The biopic is based on Guardian journalist Luke Harding’s book The Snowden Files: The Inside Story Of The World’s Most Wanted Man, as well as Time Of The Octopus, an upcoming novel from Snowden’s lawyer Anatoly Kucherena, based on her experiences working with the whistleblower in Russia.
Shailene, who next reprises her role as Tris in the Divergent sequel Insurgent, said she would love to work with Joseph.
“I’ve been a fan of Joe’s for a long, long time. I thought Don Jon was incredible. It was the favourite film I saw last year,” she said.
“I thought it was really smart and you don’t see movies like that very often – playful with an important message that’s not preachy. And I thought Scarlett Johansson is such a f***ing babe in that.”
The Fault In Our Stars is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD.
