The two-year-old girl, wearing a black dress with black tights, Mary Jane shoes and a colourful scarf, was photographed leaving New York’s Ziegfeld Theatre in her father’s arms, as Beyonce walked beside them.

Earlier, she was seen arriving at the premiere in her mother’s arms, wearing a grey pea coat with fur trim.

Jay Z, one of the film’s producers and a contributor to the soundtrack, joined stars including Cameron Diaz, Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, Quvenzhane Wallis and Rose Byrne on the red carpet.

It came after the big-screen musical remake was leaked, after Sony Pictures fell prey to hackers.

“I wasn’t happy – the whole holiday (Thanksgiving) weekend, I was dealing with that,” director Will Gluck told the Hollywood Reporter.

“The only thing I could find, after going through a wide range of emotions, is that we made a movie about hope, optimism and finding your place in life, and if more people ultimately get to see that because of this, that’s the only thing I can hang onto.”

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who portrays bodyguard Nash in the film, added: “Because Annie is such an intimate part of the American membrane, I hardly think it’ll distract people from coming to see it. It’s a festive movie, and that’s what people want during Christmas. I believe the hackers will probably be in there as well!”

Bobby Cannavale, who plays an adviser to Jamie’s Will Stacks character, said to Variety: “It sucks. It’s cyber-terrorism.”

The film’s afterparty at Skylight Clarkson Square featured an indoor carnival with games, jugglers, stilt-walkers, photo booths, ice cream and sweets, along with a decadent spread of savoury finger foods, s’mores with liquid marshmallows and cannolis – Annie’s favourite treats.
