Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were among the stars who turned out to honour director Quentin Tarantino at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Hollywood.
Jennifer Lopez and Demi Moore also walked the red carpet at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for the ceremony honouring the Pulp Fiction director and conceptual artist Barbara Kruger.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx, who both worked with Tarantino on his Western movie Django Unchained, were also in attendance, along with collaborators Harvey Weinstein, Christoph Waltz, Eli Roth and Rosanna Arquette.
Reservoir Dogs star Tim Roth introduced Tarantino, while DiCaprio – who was sporting a heavy beard and accompanied by model girlfriend Toni Garrn – co-chaired the gala with museum trustee Eva Chow.
In his speech, Tarantino said: “I love to talk, and I love to talk about movies. I don’t like to talk about my movies.”
He described himself as an “LA boy” and said he would one day like to see Los Angeles take over Paris as the world capital of cinephilia.
Other celebrity guests included Kirsten Dunst and boyfriend Garrett Hedlund, Selena Gomez, Amy Adams, Salma Hayek, Eddie Redmayne, Kate Beckinsale and Cara Delevingne.
