Brad Pitt shocked fans when he popped into a Wimpy restaurant and ordered a cheeseburger.

The Daily Mirror reported that the Hollywood star, 50, treated himself to a £6.35 cheeseburger meal with chips at a Wimpy in Essex.

The multi-millionaire actor, who is in Britain filming the World War Z sequel, walked into the take-away in Billericay with three friends as well as security guards on July 8.

An insider was quoted as saying: "Brad was really polite and friendly to staff. He's a fan of the Wimpy donuts after having them when he was filming World War Z here a few years ago, but sadly there weren't any on Tuesday night.

"He is expected to come back later this week to pick some up."

As well as his own cheeseburger meal, the actor ordered a £9.85 smokey barbecue burger with cheese, bacon and chips, a £2.95 classic cheeseburger and a £4.60 sausage, egg and chips meal and fizzy drinks, the newspaper said.

Earlier in the evening, the dad of six was spotted relaxing in a private conference room at the Red Lion pub in the Essex town, which was famously the setting of the BBC sitcom Gavin And Stacey.

An onlooker said: "There was no fuss, Brad clearly just wanted to chill out after his day on set."
