Beyonce has topped Forbes magazine's celebrity power list.

The singer was placed at number one on the American business magazine's 15th annual Celebrity 100 list for the first time since she debuted on the list in 2004. Her estimated earnings for the year were thought to be in the region of 115 million US dollars (£ 67.15 million).

British boyband One Direction entered the list for the first time at number 28, while Madonna, David Beckham and Coldplay have dropped out of the top 100.

American basketball player LeBron James was at number two, followed by hip hop's Dr Dre at number three - up 60 places from last year after raking in a massive 620 million dollars (£362 million) in the last 12 months, which is the highest annual earnings for any celebrity in the history of the Forbes Celebrity 100 list.

Completing the top 10 were Oprah Winfrey, chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, Beyonce's husband Jay Z, boxer Floyd Mayweather, singers Rihanna and Katy Perry and actor Robert Downey Jr.

Other notable newcomers to the 2014 list include musicians Bruno Mars at number 13, Pharrell Williams at number 38 and Avicii at number 47. Actors entering the list included Bradley Cooper at number 48, Matthew McConaughey at number 52, Bryan Cranston at number 88, Amy Adams at number 81 and Natalie Portman at number 100.

Charlize Theron, Mila Kunis, Tom Cruise, Tina Fey, Donald Trump, Alec Baldwin and Adam Sandler were also among the stars to drop off the list this year.
