The minions go Christmas carolling in a new trailer for the Despicable Me spin-off.

The promo for the eagerly-anticipated film – which tells the origins story of the loveable yellow characters – sees them in their festive gear and doing a unique rendition of Jingle Bells.

With Minions not out until the summer of 2015, the viral video should keep fans entertained until the minions are back on the big screen.

The prequel, featuring the voices of Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm, will follow Kevin, Stuart and Bob before their days with Despicable Me villain Gru (Steve Carell).

Earlier this month the first trailer was released and showed the group of minions evolving through the ages and serving a variety of despicable masters including evil dinosaur Tyrannosaurus Rex, Egyptian pharaohs, Dracula and French political leader Napoleon Bonaparte, before falling into a deep depression when their employers disappear.

Allison Janney, Steve Coogan and Michael Keaton also lend their voices to characters.

Directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, Minions will open in UK cinemas on June 26, 2015.
