Transformers: Age Of Extinction has received the most nominations at this year’s Golden Raspberry Awards – better known as the Razzies – which celebrate the worst that Hollywood has to offer.
The fourth instalment of the action franchise, which saw Mark Wahlberg taking over the lead role from Shia LaBeouf, led the Razzie line-up with seven nominations, including worst picture, worst sequel, worst screenplay and worst screen combo.
It is also up for worst director for Michael Bay, worst supporting actress for Nicola Peltz and worst supporting actor for Kelsey Grammer, who has also been nominated for his performances in The Expendables 3, Legends Of Oz and Think Like A Man Too.
The Legend Of Hercules, starring Twilight’s Kellan Lutz as the Greek hero, and Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas follow Transformers with six nods apiece including worst picture, worst director and worst actor.
Charlize Theron and Cameron Diaz will fight it out for worst actress, alongside Drew Barrymore, Melissa McCarthy and Gaia Weiss, while Adam Sandler, Nicolas Cage, Seth MacFarlane, Kellan Lutz and Kirk Cameron could take the worst actor honours.
Blended star Adam is no stranger to the Razzies, having received 10 nominations for worst actor and won three times.
Newlywed Cameron has also been nominated for worst supporting actress for her role as Miss Hannigan in the Annie remake, joining Megan Fox and Susan Sarandon, with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Shaquille O’Neal and Kiefer Sutherland in line for worst supporting actor.
Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Keanu Reeves, Kristen Stewart and Mike Myers will battle for the Redeemer award, which honours a star who has rebounded from the Razzies with critical success.
The winners of the 35th annual Razzies will be announced on February 21, the night before the Academy Awards.
